Travel - How To Get There

By air:
Thessaloniki International Airport (SKG) is located approximately 14Km from the centre of Thessaloniki (a 30 minute taxi ride).

International flights: There are daily direct flights from Zurich, Munich, Stuttgart, Dusseldorf, Larnaca and Bucharest and regular flights from London Gatwick, Berlin, Vienna, Paris, Pafos, Prague, Budapest and Belgrade.

Domestic connections: Athens - 14 flights daily; Heraklion - 6 flights daily, Rhodes and Chania - 1 flight daily.

Daily train service: From the following cities: Istanbul, Sofia, Bucharest, Belgrade, and Budapest via Bucharest.

Daily bus service: From the following cities: Istanbul. Sofia, Bucharest, Belgrade, Tirana.

Public bus service

A public bus service is available 24 hours a day from the airport to the city centre, bus number 78 or 78N.  These bus services operate from the airport approximately every 30 minutes.

Taxi

Taxi services in Thessaloniki are plentiful and economic.  A minimum taxi fare is €2.80.  A double fare is applicable between midnight and 05:00 am.

As a rough guide a taxi within the city will cost approximately €5, a taxi to the airport will cost between €20 – €30.
